This was my first kayak ever. I am in my 40's (well into them), and
a big guy. 6'2 320-ish pounds. This kayak is super comfortable and
extremely stable. I can stand up while on the water with no
problem. My first trip on it was a short run down the Guadalupe in
New Braunfels and it handled perfectly. I was even able to traverse
some really shallow areas that my cohorts were getting stuck in.
They were in the sit-in style kayaks. With me and a small cooler on
board I would say the boat didn't draft more than 3"
This kayak is great! Not going to win any races but paddles well with
a ton of room. Very stable. Floats through the shallow stuff easily
Great fishing kayak!! It is the most stable kayak that I have fished out
of to date. The skeg is a must in windy conditions. With the Larry
chair or yeti cooler as a seat this kayak does everything from fishing to
duck hunting. A++
Love the boat. Best kayak I have ever used for fly fishing. I had
the Diablo Adios before. My friend ran it over with his truck and
crushed it. The Amigo does not have all of the bells and whistles,
but it is easily customizable. Actually better suited to river fishing,
where I encounter lots of partially sunken boulders, because the
rotomolded hull seems more durable than the ABS used on the
Adios. I highly recommend the boat.
Nothing I've had beats this kayak. It's not the fastest out there, but
if you're not in a hurry and love to stand and fish it's great. You
don't have to have the larry chair, but I'd advise getting one.
Comfortable and easy to remove. Not many seats of this caliber will
be replaced for less than a hundred bucks. Put it on a sand bar and
tap a cold one with friends as a camp chair. Stability is perfect. I've
been on big rigs and nucanoes, but I'd but the Amigo or the Adios
against their standing capability any day. Very simplistic layout. I
love having wide open space around me to work that bass or red
into the boat! Great job, Diablo. Keep on, keepin' on!
My first kayak so can't fairly compare to anything. That said this boat
does everything I was hoping it would do. Really like and recommend
No words for how much I love this
kayak legendary stability of diablo, but
much tougher and you can't beat the
price for such a well made (in the US)
kayak thanks Diablo and thanks ACK
