model, as per the chart, and it provides
a great seal. The only complaint I have
is that it takes some practice to learn
how to put it on the boat, and even with
practice, it can be tricky. I'm not sure
how the product could be improved,
maybe it's just the way it is!

I liked this so much, I bought two. One for
my Hurricane Tracer kayak and the other
for my Perception Swifty. They both fit well
and Ive traveled on the freeway for over
300 miles with the cover on my Tracer and
it held on tightly. I like the strap that
secures the cover to the boat. Great for
keeping out bugs, snakes and spiders.

that I prefer the Harmony
cockpit cover. The Harmony is
a lighter fabric and my wife
and I feel it is easier to put
on and take off. The vinyl is
very stiff compared to the
Harmony. Just a personal
opinion.
The cockpit seals are designed not only for storage, but also for transport, therefore they are made of a heavier material. The cockpit covers are not designed for transport and therefore can be lighter weight.

standardized on these.
They are tough! They do not
shred from wind while truck-
topped, and critters have not
figured them
out yet, and there is no
annoying stitching for a
puddle of water to drip
through.
BTW to avoid those puddles,
simply stretch a short
bungee across the cockpit side
to side before
securing cockpit cover.

Hurricane Irene and Tropical
Storm Lee! Was unable to
remove kayaks from the top of
my truck in time for either of
these storms. Despite the
driving rains from both
storms, when I finally did get
my kayaks down only about 2
cups of water managed to be
wind driven under the SEALS
Cockpit Seal. One of the best
investments I have made for
our Wilderness Systems Pamlico
100 kayaks.

move to an apartment complex
on the banks of a Florida
river with provisions to store
my P&H sea kayak twenty paces
from the water's edge. My
storage area is under a
clubhouse, which is good
protection, but still
outdoors. I was greatly
concerned about unwanted
paddling companions,
especially since I launch in
the dark every day half an
hour before sunrise. The

standard version for one of
our boats also, and I like
this version better because of
the grip material on the rand.
It is easier to put on,
especially if the kayak is a
bit wet when heading home. It

120 - it covers the opening
but is a bit wide so it sags
down and collects water if
raining. I will need to build
a support underneath to hold
it up.
Most kayaks should be stored on their side or upside down to maintain their shape and hull integrity, if stored this way the cockpit covers or cockpit seals will have less a chance of collecting water.

priority mail. They were much easier to put on my large Pungo 120
cockpits than the covers I had previously. They also appear more
durable. I also like the clip at the front and strap around the
middle. I haven't taken them on the road yet, but I expect them to

I store my kayak outside and purchased the cover to keep spiders out between uses and it has been effective. The cover goes on easy if you cover both sides at one end at the same time then work your way down to the other end. I have not used the strap yet for securing cover when on car top. It fits my 12.5 foot Necky.

Recently purchases 2 of these covers, one for an Old Town 111 and one for a Necky Rip. Cover for the Rip fits perfect and was easy to use. The cover for the Loon fit EXTREMELY tight and was hard to put on without a 2nd set of hands. Overall, both did exactly what they're supposed to do and performed very well. Excellent product...ordered for two yaks,pungo 120 & dagger axis 10.5. 7.0 & 2.2 fit perfectly, well constructed, durable and piece of mind to cover the cockpits. I am a senior paddler, 65 years of age and do not have an issue with solo installation.

Good Quality cover.. They Fit my Wilderness System Pungo 120 & Pamlico 120 fairly well, not as tight as I would have liked but the strap provided helps to hold the cover on tight and reduces a lot of the drag at high speeds. I also like the clip that attaches to the kayak rigging just in case the cover comes off. I traveled 1000 miles with my kayaks on top of my truck and had no issues. Nice product.

Fits very well and stays on. Takes a couple of tries to learn the best technique to put it on. I've found that it is easiest to lay the kayak flat on the ground, and straddle it. Hook the cover around the lip behind the seat first, and then pull the front end of the cover toward the front and hook it under the front lip. Hold the front down with one hand, and use the other hand to wrap the sides of the cover around the lip, one side at a time, from back to front.

High quality item. It is an exact fit for my kayak but the very strong rubber cord makes it difficult to put on. I have remover a piece of vinyl tubing located at the knot of the cord and this has made installing the cover easier.

The Seals Kayak Cockpit Seal arrived quickly. The cover was easy to fit onto my Necky Chatham 16'. Is has a vinyl like material to keep out rain and wind. I especially like the strap that wraps around the kayak and hook that attaches to the deck bungee lines. The cover stayed on at car speeds of 40-55 MPH. I have not tried 70-80 MPH but I am confident it will stay on and prevent a lot of wind drag. Liz

ACK you have done it again - great product - excellent fit and price! I was concerned because some people had said it is tough to get on, but I found it a perfect fit on my Pamlico - keeps it sealed and the bugs and things out of the cockpit. Also, great durable material - nice and heavy duty - surprised because I did not expect such a good product for the $$$. And the delivery was speedy as always from you guys - GREAT job once again - I have bought a few things from you and always have been a happy customer....I now refer you to fellow yakkers. The cockpit seal fit perfectly on both of my 12 foot Current Design Kestrals. I found them relatively easy to install. It is a quality product that completely protects my kayaks. For the price this one is superior to others that I considered. Also, the folks at ack were extremely helpful when assisting me with the sizing for my Kestrals. Good quality durable design. Make sure you get the right fit, and don't expect it to necessarily fit drum tight. The safety strap is just a piece of webbing with a buckle. Good product though, worth the money for a travel worthy rain proof cover.

This is a great cover except for one thing. Since it did not initially fit over the opening of my Perception Prodigy, I loosened the bungee cord that goes around the cover to keep it elastic. (there is an opening where they are attached to each other with a plastic tube. ) There is no way to prevent the ends of the cord from going into the hem of the cover. So now, I have to try to threat them back to the opening. There should be instructions and there should be a knob or some kind of fastening to allow temporary loosening of the cover until it has stretched sufficiently. Then one can tighten the cord again.

The Seals Kayak Cockpit Seal is pretty much as expected. Seems to be well made and it has kept rain out. It's easy to remove.
The main issue is that it's not easy for one person to put on, at least for our Old Town Adventurer kayak. The front of the cover hooks onto the kayak bungee cords. After that, it feels like three hands would be helpful.There's no other place to hook it, so I hold one side with each hand, gradually moving back, keeping tension, scooting on my knees on the dock while bending over. The kayak is floating and wants to move back with the pulling hands. This is uncomfortable. Eventually I get around to the back end, pulling against considerable tension in the bungee cord, and snap the back on. This is the best procedure I've worked out so far, but the cord sometimes still snaps out of the coaming and I have to start over. I'd guess this is not a problem peculiar to this brand and model, but inherent in the hatch configuration. It would be much easier to have 1 or 2 more hooks to attach to, but they would then be in the way while paddling and each would be another hole in the boat.
We haven't tried to transport the kayak since getting the cover, so can't comment on how well it stays on.

I store our kayaks on the foredeck of our boat and we are out on the water about half the time, summer and winter. Here in the Pacific Northwest we get a lot of rain and in winter some pretty good storms. The seal fits the Pamlico 100 perfectly and keeps the kayaks nice and dry, yet it is easy to remove. More than worth the money.

This is a great seal. Fits my Wilderness Systems Pamlico 100 just fine. Stays tight even when rain water puddles up on cover. Strap that buckles around the width of kayak and the clip on the front of the seal has insured that the seal hasn't budged when driving at high speeds. Well constructed, good design. Well worth the money.

I've stored the kayaks with the covers on and had them on my racks on my truck. They are heavy duty and attach well to my kayaks. We got a lot of rain that puddled up in the cover. The water didn't come in nor did the cover pull off. I'm very impressed with quality and would buy them again as well as recommend them to a friend.

Nice fit... stays on during transportation on the top of my SUV. Reduces the howling wind noise by a good margin and therefore drag on my vehicle and gas mileage should be slightly better. Keeps bugs out of it during storage as well. The trick to this is it's air tight unlike some of the others. This is what I wanted so that it would reduce drag while transporting it... BUT... it also means I have to wait a couple days after hanging my kayak up before putting the seal on or I will mildew the inside of my yak by trapping the moisture in. There are other products you could put on ASAP to just keep bugs out and let the yak breathe a little more so keep that in mind if you need something you put on as soon as you get home.
