Like George, I found the only thing that this product does that wasn't expected is that it absorbs a small amount of water on the surface. However, it's very minor and doesn't impact my use of the foam. I used this foam to provide padding inside a bag I use for carrying photography equipment. It's the perfect density and thickness to provide support while being flexible in my bag. My order even included a free 2009 kayak calendar, which was a wonderful surprise!

This is great stuff if you need to add a little extra padding. It is easy to cut and work, is flexible enough to fit almost any normal curved surface and silicone works as an adhesive. Only one minor negative point; while the stuff is “closed cell” (not suppose to absorb water), it will absorb a very minor amount of moisture on the surface. Just enough to get your butt wet if the stuff is used by itself as seat padding.
