Customer Rating: 4.1 of 5
I was concerned, if this rudder would fit my Perception triumph 13
kayak. So i called Austin and was assured it would fit. A big thank
you Austin...... And did i mention how fast i received my rudder? It
really does the job. ( South Carolina )
Overpriced and instructions are
awful. Really wish I could
have purchased the rudder
assembly and foot braces by
themselves. Everything else
(hardware, cables, deck line,
shock cord) can be obtained at
Home Depot for pennies on the
dollar. The instructions
included in the kit are terrible.
Rife with typos, laid out poorly,
and generally unclear.
If you have trouble putting
things together with some
modifications of the
directions have someone do it
but it was pretty easy to
install. makes a big
difference. a little pricey
but made for those models.
it gives me much more control of my kayak
I absolutely love my new rudder. It makes paddling so much smoother and easy. My husband installed the new rudder on my kayak in less than 2 hours.
I purchased this kit for my husband. He loves it. We've been out kayaking and he says it keeps the kayak on track. No more drifting.
Finally got the time to install and now it feels like a new and
different boat. Steering with footpegs takes some practice but
uphauling the rudder is easy so the "old boat" still works. The
rudder works quite well in the wind. I strongly suggest looking at
an installation video on YouTube before you get started, the
written instructions can be a little confusing but if you can see
what has to happen and the finished product, it's much easier.
