The Harmony Knee Pad kit fits the Pungo and Aspire line of kayaks. These knee pads are made of molded textured foam that softens the interior edges of the cockpit coaming providing extra comfort for paddlers. Affixes with included pine tree rivets.
The knee pads are great and they are actual original replacement pads but they come with NO instructions whatsoever. You think they'd just wrap around and you drill holes to match those in the pads but when I tried figuring it out (my pungo 120 had no knee pads already on to refrence the installation) it was too difficult to figure out and I know I installed them improperly. They work but if someone could PLEASE get me a refrence as to how to install these right I'd buy a new pair and redo my job as it is intended.
Considering previous reviews that mentioned a lack of hardware, I was hesitant to order. However, that issue seemed to be resolved in more recent reviews so I ordered a pair of pads to replace my original ones that were severely suffering from exposure to the elements and small animals. They were exactly as advertised and exactly what I needed. The required number of push rivets and washers were included. HOWEVER, the washers were too small for the push rivets!!! I was able to use the original washers, but could only find 5 of the 6 that I needed.
Have been updating an Old Town Heron 9 and needed knee pads. Couldn't seem to find Old Town brand but saw these and watched the simple Youtube video on how to install them. Very happy with how they turned out, they look OEM and make the boat much more pleasant to paddle with especially on longer rides. With a little creativity and a quick to trip the hardware store these could work on almost any kayak/boat.
Nice item,no mounting instructions.I know it's not "rocket science"but the yak is plastic and ............ A request from CS and they pointed me to a video and all's good. Can only give 4 stars because of the instruction issue.
