The Harmony Knee Pad kit fits the Pungo and Aspire line of kayaks. These knee pads are made of molded textured foam that softens the interior edges of the cockpit coaming providing extra comfort for paddlers. Affixes with included pine tree rivets.
The knee pads are great and they are actual original replacement pads but they come with NO instructions whatsoever. You think they'd just wrap around and you drill holes to match those in the pads but when I tried figuring it out (my pungo 120 had no knee pads already on to refrence the installation) it was too difficult to figure out and I know I installed them improperly. They work but if someone could PLEASE get me a refrence as to how to install these right I'd buy a new pair and redo my job as it is intended.
Considering previous reviews that mentioned a lack of hardware, I was hesitant to order. However, that issue seemed to be resolved in more recent reviews so I ordered a pair of pads to replace my original ones that were severely suffering from exposure to the elements and small animals. They were exactly as advertised and exactly what I needed. The required number of push rivets and washers were included. HOWEVER, the washers were too small for the push rivets!!! I was able to use the original washers, but could only find 5 of the 6 that I needed.
Worked great! I purchased 2 sets for my pelican 100s and thanks to Chris's previous comment followed the instructions from the you tube video "How to install knee pads not made for your kayak". Worked perfectly!
I bought three sets, all for non Pungo and Aspire kayaks. I used them on 2 Pelican Ultimate 100s and 1 Perception Swifty Deluxe 95. If you search on YouTube for "How to install knee pads not made for your kayak" you'll get instructions that work perfectly for the Pelicans, but I had to modify that somewhat for the Perception. The important thing is, these worked great and added a level of comfort to our kayaks. Great looking and comfortable product!
