This boat is amazing, Have only been on a few outing thus far but i love it. Self draining yak is a must and def not over rated. Did well on the river in some decent rapids. Tipped over a water fall and the bungee's held everything is place. I wish the front hatch cover came standard. The wheel is very nice for entry and exit esp on a boat ramp. Just load up everything by the car and wheel it on down right into the water. Also light enough i can secure it on top of the truck by myself. My main complaint is the foot pedals not as comfortable with bare feet as i would like. Seems like an important issue that was over looked. They are however easily adjustable. Seat is a little awkward to adjust positions on the water, i am sure it will get easier with practice. wish there was a few built in rod holders as there is room for them behind the seat. more built in dry storage would be a plus. The one that's on there is pretty small. Very stable

Top Question & Answer
Q: We just order the 14.5 for fishing offshore including calm waters. How is the 12 for some offshore trips?
A: Although I have not personally taken this boat offshore. I can tell you that it has plenty of stability and speed to handle offshore trips. Even smaller boats than this, nowadays, are made to handle offshore fishing excursions.

Q: I am new to fishing kayaks and I am looking to buy the slayer 12 for fishing the flats on the west coast of Florida. I see that I have an option to buy the rudder, but this kayak does not have a pedal system, How does this work?
A: thank you for your question. you will use the foot braces to steer the rudder.

Q: can you have the rudder and the wheel installed on the slayer12 at the same time?
A: You can have the rudder and wheel installed at the same time, but if we are shipping this to you we do not install the wheel because it would get damaged in shipping. You will have to bolt that on yourself when you receive it. We do install the rudder with all hardware but then take the rudder itself off for shipping and you have to bolt that back on as well when you receive the kayak.
