The Grand Trunk Hammock Compatible Sleeping Bag is a brilliant solution for hammock sleeping on cool and cold nights. Most sleeping bags compress under your back when you lay in a hammock, which crushes the insulating loft and lets your back freeze. But Grand Trunks Hammock-Compatible Sleeping Bag wraps around you and the hammock, creating a warm, swinging nest. Hanging in the cool mountain air never felt so good.

I have nothing but good things to say about this hammock sleeping bag. I am 5'11" and 250 lbs. I have an ENO singlenest and a hummingbird single+ hammock and both work great with it. I have used it multiple times hiking the AT. Last time I used it was in east TN. It got down to around 38 degrees with 25 mph wind gust. I was toasty and comfy all night. I have had no major issues at all with it for over a year now. It is a little drafty at the ends but I stuff a tee shirt or socks in the end to plug the holes up better. I gave the 32 degree bag to my son and am getting the 0 degree bag for some winter hiking.
Let me start out by saying that Austin Kayak was great on the purchase. I found it cheaper from another online vendor and they were great about matching that vendors price. Shipping was also fast and the Item arrived intact. The bag did not work well for a bigger person. I tried it out at home before my trip to ensure no surprises. I could zip it up but it was tight. I figured that is what you wanted no wasted fabric and wasted weight. Once on the hammock it was impossible to zip it past the sag in the hammock making it about useless. Without a top quilt that I dragged along I would have had to cut the trip short. On the first night one of the guy outs on the bungee that keep it from bunching up in the middle ripped out and the zipper broke. I was able to make a field repair of the zipper and use it inside the hammock for the remaining 2 days of the trip. I imagine it will sit on a shelf in the garage and I will end up purchasing an under quilt instead. I had high hopes for this bag now it seems it is a really expensive paper weight.
