The Slip Anchor 4 lb. is ideal for deeper water and areas with swift current where a lighter anchor would have a hard time grabbing hold. The large triangular wings on the 4 lb. Slip Anchor pivot, allowing the anchor to work no matter what side it may land on after being thrown overboard. Also by tying off to the included slip ring, it is even possible to retrieve your anchor if it were to get stuck. The slip ring allows for you to pull on the line in a different direction, causing the anchor to be moved in the opposite direction that it became lodged into the obstruction. The 4 lb. Slip anchor is a great piece to have for deep water lake fishermen and those who enjoy spending time offshore kayaking.

Got this for my yak to use on horrible wind days. At under $10 with free shipping, this could save my life. I once got blown out into the Gulf with just a 3 lb 4-prong folding anchor, barely held. At 4 lb, it's not too heavy, and provides max holding power.
Hard to find a good small anchor these days. Here, you get what you pay for I'd say. OK for a picnic stop but the anchor was poorly welded and the shank would easily break out if not fixed. So I finally added $20 of work to it, with more weld and an added heel plate and now it's not only more solid but works better too.
