The Kelty Grand Mesa 4 4-person, 3 season tent is a great value for backpackers and campers and includes high-quality DAC Press-fit poles. It is easy to pitch, includes a single vestibule for storage, and offers excellent ventilation. DAC Press-fit poles are used in all Kelty tents including the Grand Mesa 2 where strength is more critical than weight. These poles feature a ferrule that is pressed in, rather than glued, using an extremely precise interference fit to hold it in place. This system ensures that the poles will be strong and reliable for many years to come, with no slippage or corrosion. Clip construction provides great fly separation and increased air movement. Clip construction makes it easier to set-up your tent and the clips connecting the poles to the tent are color-coded so set-up is easy and quick in low light conditions. The Gran Mesa Tent also features noiseless zipper pulls are lighter weight than standard zippers and they resist jingling when it's windy.

Awesome Tent. Took it waaay out into the middle of nowhere in the La Sal Mountains 9,200 ft. above Moab, UT and it went up in a flash. Then the second night my infant daughter was teething and wanted to go so we broke it all down in equally a flash and had to head down to town. Nonetheless the tent was great. In the Southwest if theres a thunderstorm or something and you need to set up and/or take down quick this tent is the best. Roomy and warm down into the 40s at night.
We have had Kelty tents for 16 years and they are the best for your money. Now that we have kids old enough to go on backcountry hikes with us we had to go from a 2-person tent to a 4-person tent and it is still the same great quality. We have tried all the other brands since purchasing our first kelty and you should not waste your money on the expensive brands. The poles and tents hold up great and if they say they are waterproof - they are. We have a 5 and 8 year old and if you have a 15 and 18 year old you do not want the kelty 4 person tent go largeryou need more room . But for smaller kids you have plenty of room and it is light weight for backcountry hikes.
