The Backpackers Hot Apple Cobbler with sweetened apples topped with a delicious cobbler. A great hot dessert! Remove cobbler mix packet and set aside. Add apples and sauce to 1 cup (240 mL) of water. Stir. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat and cook for 5 minutes. Stir occasionally. Add 3 tablespoons of water to cobbler mix. Stir until smooth. Spread cobbler mix over apples. Cover and cook over low heat for 10 minutes in a nonstick pan.

I ate this as a breakfast one morning before heading out to handle the rapids of Devils River. The amount of carbs and sugars gave me the needed energy to handle the wind, rapids, and whatever else the river tried to throw at me. The taste is so good you may end up doing a happy dance! I didn't follow the directions 100% -more like throw hot water in it and let it cook for a bit then add the topping and mix well. It turned out great!!!!
