The Wilderness Systems Tarpon Kayak Replacement Handles contains two replacement handles that will fit the Tarpon 100, 120, 130T, 140, 160, 160i as well as the Ride and many others. Sold as a pair.
These are as advertised. They matched the end handles on the Tarpons. With the front handles, you will need a phillips screw driver and a wrench to hold the nut while untightening and tightening the screws. The back handle is easy to replace and only require the screwdriver. For side handles, you will want to order the pair with the bungee to hold your paddle in place.
I purchased these to replace a handle that ripped after 5 years of use. The replacement handle ripped in the same way after one use.
The handles are great. That ACK doesn't offer a kit that includes hardware, or prominently recommend the correct hardware as an add-on choice, is annoying. For this specific pair of handles the proper screws and washers are mentioned, buried in a question and answer. The nuts are not mentioned at all. ACK sells very similar handles that make no reference at all to which hardware is appropriate for installing it.
These handles are junk. the fabric tears at the transition from hard plastic to fabric. Happened on both my Tarpon kayaks. Unfortunately nothing else fits so I have to keep replacing them, tried Malibu's but no dice. Any advice?
