Forget hassling with block foam, sandpaper and glue to customize whitewater or sea kayaks. Simply peel the backing off the Surf to Summit Hot Seat Spicy and it permanently secures in the cockpit. In addition to superior comfort and support, the seat also encourages a slightly forward posture to help the paddler better engage and utilize a thigh brace. Made from sturdy thermal-molded foam, it's available in three styles: Grande (Gray) made wider and longer to accommodate larger paddlers; Spicy (Black), the one on this page, is made a bit firmer for handling serious whitewater; Mild (Blue) made softer for calm water touring.

When I rec'd the Summit Hot Seat Spicy, I was a little concerned that it might not adhere properly to the contour seat in my kayak. No problem at all! I peeled the paper from the seat, put it in place, then set a 10 lb. bag of sand on it overnite--stuck like glue the following morning. Great product.
Okay for the price. Used it once and it came unglued from the kayak. Had to use marine puddy to make it stay in place. Otherwise it was pretty comfortable.
Only have used seat once so far, but was comfortable and adhesive stuck very well.
I bought this to replace the 1/4" thick foam "seat" on my Island Waveski and it works perfectly so far. The molded seat keeps me from shifting to the side especially when doing an eskimo roll. I did notice afterwards that the Island Waveski website offers this same seat for sale. As always, Austin Kayak delivered the product in perfect condition and on time.
