Forget hassling with block foam, sandpaper and glue to customize whitewater or sea kayaks. Simply peel the backing off the Surf to Summit Hot Seat Spicy and it permanently secures in the cockpit. In addition to superior comfort and support, the seat also encourages a slightly forward posture to help the paddler better engage and utilize a thigh brace. Made from sturdy thermal-molded foam, it's available in three styles: Grande (Gray) made wider and longer to accommodate larger paddlers; Spicy (Black), the one on this page, is made a bit firmer for handling serious whitewater; Mild (Blue) made softer for calm water touring.

Butt was a little sore after a 7 hour trip. Would hate to think how bad it would hurt without this extra padding. My yak has a smooth plastic seat, this seat really helps get some grip. Could'nt be happier with my purchase.
Comfortable, but, does not stick well to OT Otter seat. It started to peel off the next day even after thorough cleaning of seat prior to installation.
I bought this to replace the 1/4" thick foam "seat" on my Island Waveski and it works perfectly so far. The molded seat keeps me from shifting to the side especially when doing an eskimo roll. I did notice afterwards that the Island Waveski website offers this same seat for sale. As always, Austin Kayak delivered the product in perfect condition and on time.
When I rec'd the Summit Hot Seat Spicy, I was a little concerned that it might not adhere properly to the contour seat in my kayak. No problem at all! I peeled the paper from the seat, put it in place, then set a 10 lb. bag of sand on it overnite--stuck like glue the following morning. Great product.
