The Eureka Assault Outfitter 4 Tent is a 4-person, 4-season tent that is durable and self supported. The Assault Outfitter 4 is features a design based upon the US Marine Corps Combat tent for inherent toughness. The Assault rectangular dome is supported by a pre-bent 13mm 7000 series aluminum frame. The two doors are secured by durable #10 zippers and feature high/low venting capability. Roomy and sturdy. It performed well in sub-zero temperatures. I am very happy with it.
I bought this tent after looking at so many reviews. I tried this summer in mountains and under windy and rainy days. I liked how spacious it is and specially because it is the highest ceiling 4 seasons tent that I found. I found that the design could be improved regarding the entrance. If it rains everytime you come into tent water pours into the inside tent. I felt the fly (outside part) was too close to the inner tent and it would have been better to bring it all the way down to the floor. It is very stable and held reasonably well in windy conditions. The only thing was that I had some leakages and it seems that it comes from seams that have not been sealed by Eureka. I would have expect that a 4 season tent new and expensive would have come with seam sealed! I missed a bigger Vestibule (entrance porch) to store stuff and even cook. I loved the 2 entrances perfect in hot conditions. So mixed feelings as my previous tent an Altus lasted for 25 years and held all types of conditions very well. I did appreciate ACK response with some issues with the bag, they were fast to respond and address the problem.
Great price on this tent, it is very spacious fits 4 with gear. It is heavy though. But overall a great tent at a great price!
Sturdy tent with lots of room. Our first week out and we had rain every night (over 2" on one night) we all stayed warm and dry! We usually stay in a camper, but a tent was our only option on this trip, and we have no regrets. We are looking forward to our next trip with the tent (rain or shine)
