The Stake-Out Stick Boat Mounting Clips Kit is the easiest way to mount your Stake-Out Stick to your boat. Each Stake-Out Stick Boat Mounting Clips Kit includes two heavy duty rubber clips, two stainless steel screws, and two velcro strips.
Clips work well.
The clips do what they are designed to do. They do hold the pole anchor, any 3/4" pole anchor. For the price, you really can't complain too much. I don't really know of any kayaks, though, that have flat side hulls for the clips to sit flush once they are mounted. So once you mount the clips, which almost always will be off the side hull to some degree, the contours of each component do not sit flush with each other. You end up with the clip's base edges raised off the hull. A soft rubber base would have molded to the hull, any hull, and prevent areas for lines, anchor trolley, from getting wedged under during adjustment.
Product seemed to sit nice and flush along the side of my Native Slayer 14.5, but once I screwed them in I was not pleased with the outcome... The screws attach the clips to the Yak, but have no retention to the hull. The clips spin and I'm in fear it's gonna lead to unnecessary plastic damage from moving around. Maybe JR weld would work better.
Attachment system sucks. The wood screws provided stripped out installing them. Had to replace them with SS machine screws with a washer backing & nylon lock nut. Product is over priced, because you have to buy more hardware to install it.
