You shouldn't be breaking Orbix hatches while out on the water. I can see it happening while loading it on the car and forgetting to latch the hatch down. So don't leave your hatch open while loading it on the car. If you do have an accident and bust a hatch out this is the replacement. You won't be able to retrofit older Wilderness kayaks with this hatch so I wouldn't try it.
