This is a very well designed and rugged visibility kit. The light not only meets USCG requirements but is surprisingly bright. The low power "work" mode is very useful for being able to see what your are doing when night fishing, without having the light full power where you could be mistaken for a vessel under way. The emergency mode is definitely attention getting. The battery life is amazingly good. The visibility flag, which I use during the day to be seen by motorized craft, is very durable and well built. The reflective properties of the flag make it hard to miss. The starport HD mount that comes with this kit worked beautifully mounted behind the seat on my Perception Pescador Pilot. I would definitely buy this again and will be buying a second to put on my fiancé's kayak for when she is night fishing with me. If you are out at night you are expected to meet certain visibility requirements of the USCG for a paddle vessel and kayaks are NOT exempted. So I highly recommend this. It got a very positive comment during a routine Coast Guard compliance inspection and surprised the gal doing the inspection.
Good Visible Light--Contacts may be weak. Used on lake and all went well until pulling it across shore to make shortcut. Vibrations appear to disconnect the light. Had to turn light back on a couple of times (I was portaging by the light's illumination).
