Review: Great product. Transported canoe 1200 miles on top of Toyota Sienna, absolutely no problem. Tie down technique is critical. I followed the instructions I found online at the Red Rock Store site. Only changes were putting a twist in the straps on the sides to prevent harmonics building up and causing vibration. Traveled at 70 mph no problem.

Review: I own a 2010 Subaru Outback. I transport a Wenonah Spirit II Canoe. This gunwale system can not be installed as instructed because the canoe is too wide, despite the clamps being installed in their widest positions. In order for this system to work, you have to install the brackets in reverse. Instead of the rests being placed on the outside of the canoe, they face outward from the inside of the canoe. This works to prevent the canoe from shifting across the roof rack. This approach is inconvenient when loading a canoe by yourself. You have to approach the car from the side, heave the canoe gunwale over the first set of rests, slide the canoe across the rack until it hits the rests on the other side, then you have to go to the bow and the stern to lift the canoe over their corresponding rests. Despite the inconvenience, I like the security that this system offers and it is easy to install. I would improve the package by including hood straps.
