The Yakima Rack and Roll Kickstand conveniently attaches to the tongue of your Yakima Rack and Roll Trailer. The Yakima Rack and Roll Kickstand also folds up under the tongue so that it is not left hanging while you travel. When deployed, the Yakima Rack and Roll Kickstand keeps your trailer level when un-hitched making loading and unloading a breeze.

I cannot imagine owning the trailer without this add on. However, why is it an add-on? This item should graciously be included with the trailer given the price of the trailer. I love Yakimas products, in general, but they do seem to enjoy nickle and diming their customers to excess. No question, the kickstand is a must for us. I wouldnt want to be without it.
I've had this kickstand on my Rack and Roll trailer for a few months now and I find it pretty useless. All you have to do is lightly bump your trailer to get this kickstand to fold and your whole trailer takes a dive (it has no locking mechanism to keep it in the down position). I now use two 5 gallon buckeds (one stacked inside another) to keep the front end up and to keep the trailer from nose diving. This is a big waste of money.
Bought the kickstand for my Rack and Roll 78. When I received the package it looked like it was a return. Parts were rattling around in the box, no instructions and I was missing two bolts. Called Austin ... 10 days later a new kickstand arrived in the mail. Kick stand works well. You have to be careful about any slope. It is a little wobbly and could collapse if on a slope. Might design a support block for it. Overall pleased with it and the Rack and Roll 78
I'm giving this kickstand a 1 Star review only because of two reasons: #1. Even though I found the kickstand very convenient, I noticed immediately that once my kayak and roof box was loaded on the trailer, the kickstand itself seemed very wobbly once extended and set on the ground. The trailer leaned to one side slightly because there seemed to be too much play in the mechanics of the device this was on flat ground by the way, not a hill. #2 After only owning the trailer less than a year, and actually using it for hauling my kayak to launch points less than 6 times, the kickstand gave way while extended, lurching the trailer forward and collapsing under the weight of the kayak, & roof box sending the coupler into a hefty dig into my front lawn - and unfortunately, in doing so sheared off the push- button pin that allows one to extend, lower & lock the kickstand into place. The kickstand is now virtually useless as it will no longer lock into an extended position. I will be contacting Yakima to see if they will warrant this for me. I addition, I agree with the other comments here - that this kickstand should be included with the hefty price tag of this trailer. Great trailer though, no complaints there.
We would be happy to warranty this for you. Please contact us with issues like these.
