EcoXGear "Carbon" waterproof blue tooth speaker is great! Bought it for someone and she loves it! Sounds great, solid speaker system. Heavier then it looks. ACK had it to me in no time after ordering.
I am a musician and recordist. I also love kayaking. Though I love the serenity and peace afforded by kayaking, sometimes you just have to have your jams. I have owned one of these since they came out; two seasons now. It has been tossed in the river, dripped on, and dropped. It has been run dead and recharged countless times. It still holds a charge and still sounds like it did when new. The LED light on it is a nice touch when camping; I didn't think much of that feature until I used it and it's brighter than you think. I have also used it to charge my phone. The Bluetooth connects to my phone easily. It allows me to control the volume, skip forward/backward, and pause. It can be turned off and resumes playback when turned back on by hitting the pause button without ever touching your phone. I can accept calls on it; it works as a speakerphone. When used for calls, you do need to hold it and speak loudly to be heard by your caller...it is completely waterproof after all. It is not a HiFi nor a boom box. Again, it is completely waterproof. It's loud enough for kayaking. The sound is quite full for what it is. Stereo separation is good. I did not buy it as a replacement for my stereo. I did not buy it to be a portable party box. I bought it so I could have some jams while kayaking without worries of water damage. I like all styles of music. Acoustic blues sound quite good on it. Metal not so much. Basically the more spaces between the notes the better it sounds. Everything sounds acceptable considering what it is and what its' intended purpose is. Did I say it floats? It floats. If you tip over in the river you can just follow the sound and retrieve it. It sounds good enough and plays loud enough that I use it when working in the yard. It's very convenient. Fully charged it lasts me all day on the river; high volume with intermittent use. Are there better sounding/louder Bluetooth speakers available? You bet but they are not waterproof; and I didn't say water resistant - I said water proof. Because this device delivers on its' promise of waterproof and because it has been implemented so well, I give it 5 stars. If you want tunes on the water you want one of these.
