The Ocean Kayak Venus 11 is a lightweight recreational kayak for women paddlers with a medium to large build. Super lightweight for easy car-topping, the Venus 11 is built for fun with a slightly wider seat positioned to help the boat respond to a woman's center of gravity. It's stable and suited for flat water, moderate ocean swells and waves or slow-moving rivers. The Venus 11 features a Comfort Hybrid seat, 2 hatches, water bottle holder, center carry handle, hard plastic side-handles, a skid plate, and a side paddle holder. New for 2015, Ocean Kayak has added a front Click Seal hatch. The comfy Venus 11 comes with a unique grab handle system for easy car-topping. Now you can load up and head to the water without help!

I love my Venus 11 kayak! I purchased from ACK (very pleased with their customer service) in 2013. I purchased based on internet research versus actually trying out the Venus 11. I do recommend trying the boat before purchasing. The research I did was not necessarily accurate. Cons: Unstable- I was surprised to find a rounded bottom that makes the Venus 11 a little more unstable than most Ocean Kayaks I've experienced. I weigh 170, so it's not a matter of being overweight for this kayak. The lack of stability has not stopped me. I have still enjoyed my kayak. I have flipped in this kayak more than in any other I've used (about 6 other models- not Ocean Kayak) I have noticed two design flaws: 1- the paddle keeper is located in an awkward place. The paddle keeper button is behind the seat straps so it's very difficult to use once you're seated in the kayak. 2- The front carry handle is attached by bungee and it is located directly over the drain plug. I have skinned my knuckles multiple times while lifting or pulling my kayak using the front handle. Also, it doesn't track as well as I'd like. When my kayak is sitting in the water- empty, unloaded- it is lower on one side. I'm not sure what causes it to be off-balance. AT first I thought it was leaning because I was off-balance, but I got off and unloaded it to check. It was still leaning to one side. Maybe this was just a fluke in my particular boat. Pros: I love the pink! At the time of purchase, it was the only pink sit on top on the market! Plenty of storage. Very durable- It has weathered the ocean as well as Class 1-2 river rapids with rocks. Easy to maneuver around objects. Comfortable. Wide seat. Over all, I love my Venus 11. I'm glad I have it and use it quite often. The 4 star rating was due to the paddle keeper location as well as the drain plug location. Hopefully, they will fix that part of their design!
