With paddlesport photography becoming increasingly popular with new innovations in the camera industry, the Railblaza Platform Boom 150 Pro Series is the a good way to hold the camera and capture the action. Whether the shot is hauling in a record breaking marlin or surfing a huge wave back to shore, capturing the moment from the perfect angle is made easy. As the little brother to the Camera Boom 600, the Railblaza Platform Boom 150 Pro Series is over 11 inches long and fully adjustable with 4 moving joints. This makes capturing any angle is possible. The Platform Boom 150 has a screw on the top platform to fit most cameras, including GoPro cameras which are easily attached using the self-adhesive mounts provided with the camera. The new design of the Platform Boom 150 Pro Series is actually 3 separate parts: Railblaza Fixed Extender, Railblaza Adjustable Extender and the Railblaza Three Axis Platform. This adds to your ability to retask each part when the Platform Boom 150 is not being used as intended. The Railblaza Platform Boom 150 Pro Series will mount directly into any Railblaza mounting base; mounting base not included.
Perfect for video use on kayaks. Very versatile and strong even when used in a horizontal position. Built in loops for a backup tether cord. Top platform can be panned and tilted without needing to loosen a knob.
Great product, helped me capture the pictures I always wanted from the yak!!!! Great fast delivery too!!!!!
I used the Platform Boom 150 to mount a Lowrance Elite 4 HDI in an Old Town Predator 13. I fabricated a PVC tower directly over the transducer scupper port, then used a Railblaza Star Port Mount on the top of the tower. The tower allowed me to place the Lowrance unit in the front giving me more room around the seat, especially when fly fishing. The boom allows me to position the unit from the center to the left or right side of the boat , and mounting it in the front, protects the depth finder from paddles and mud sticks. I can remove the boom's extension and mount the base directly to the star port to further protect the unit. I have seen several folks install fish finders in the center storage area. I decided after fishing in my kayak several times that I did not want all of the gadget holders in the way. The boom allowed me to prevent a lot of clutter while protecting my electronics. The locking mechanisms seem to be a little loose on the mounts, but I do like the Rail Blaza systems and would buy this item again.
