The Ocean Kayak Nalu 12.5 Paddle Board is longer and faster than its younger sister the Nalu 11.0. It paddles smoothly across the water putting long-distance voyages within reach. This recreational SUP provides a great full body workout and is perfect for the entry level to intermediate stand up paddler who is just getting into the sport. Stand up or sit down, the Nalu is stable yet maneuverable. Most of all, the Nalu is fun!

My wife loves this Hybrid, enjoys both functions. As a SUP she took to it immediately with no problem, and she is not really an athletic type but does yoga religiously. Once we found the right position for the seat she had a lot of fun with it as a Kayak. The only negative we have is it does not function well with me on it as a SUP. Capacity states 350 lbs. but I wouldn't trust that. At 230lbs. it sat extremely low in the water. As a SUP I would recommend no one over 175lbs. max.
This is a great product. We got this because my son likes to Kayak and SUP. We just could not see spending the money for both those activities. But this fit the bill. We have taken out on a lake and in the ocean and it handles well. We invested in a Kayak seat and a Carlisle Taboo Convertable Stand-Up Kayak Paddle. I am 6' 4" and 210 lbs and I felt comfortable on it. Though I could not spread my feet to the width I like, given the slots for standing. While sitting down on it as a kayak, it does not have the foot holds to get the most power out of your stroke. I am sure I would not like to ride on this as a kayak for hours at a time. But if you are just going out for short trips this works well. In fact when on the ocean recently, a wind came up and it was helpful for my son to go from SUP to Kayak to power through it.
