The Native Ultimate Rudder Kit is attached to the stern of the boat and helps you gain control of your native Ultimate on windy days or when turning in tight spots. When the Native Ultimate Rudder Kit is not in use, the included cleat and bungee secure it to the stern of the kayak once you have raised it up. Wires run from the blade to the Easy Foot braces which are used to control the rudder during paddling. The Native Ultimate Rudder Kit comes complete with all of the hardware you'll need to install the rudder on your Native Ultimate as well as step by step instructions of the installation process.

Review:	Definitely worth the dollars. Ive crossed a lake with and without the rudder deployed, and with and without wind, and it does make a noticeable difference. The instructions really really need to be updated and made more coherent. It does slam pretty hard onto the stern when retracted, Ive put a small piece of foam on the very end of the stern as a cushion.

Review:	The rudder kit was installed by ACK so I cannot comment on installation. Using the rudder did prove to be helpful but it does take a bit of playing around to find a straight line. Once you get comfortable with it there are no issues. Pulling the rudder up and down does take a bit of force so I only wonder how long the ropes will hold up. All in all a great and must have accessory.
