The Rod Ruler is a measuring tape that goes everywhere you fish. Measuring catches up to thirty inches, it's ready the instant the fish is landed. Released fish are accurately measured without adding stress to the catch while you fish for a measuring tape. The Rod Rul-R eliminates guessing of the length of your catches and will help you be sure that your fish are of legal size. Made from the same material as boat decals, sticks to any rod.
I've added these to a couple of my paddle shafts for handy measurement of my fish. So far, they seem to be holding up. Time will tell.
The ruler sticker was kind of wide for my fresh water rod. I stuck it to the back side of the rod and it didn't lay well over the epoxy eye whipping. The instructions state to NOT stretch the ruler while applying, so I was careful about this for ruler accuracy. After it was installed- I measured it. Dang, it was too short! I guess I should have stretched it just a little. Just kind of a "fiddly" product.
I usually paint my own markings on my rod for quick reference...this just simplified it for me. My only issue was it just wouldn't adhere real well to my ultra light trout rod (too narrow i guess)
I used this on my spearguns. Works great on wood or metal ones. I only wish it went to 36 inches since Barracuda and Sharks have to be 36 inches to keep in California. I recommended this item to all the members of the OC Spearos dive club because it worked out so well.
