The Dagger Katana is for the adventurer who is interested in the whitewater lifestyle and expedition style multi-water trips, but who doesn't want to limit their kayaking adventures only to whitewater. The Katana is designed with confidence, flexibility and comfort in mind on flat or up to class III whitewater. It inspires confidence in the paddler with a balanced rocker profile for speed on the flat and maneuverability in whitewater. The hull is designed for initial stability while the beveled and flared side-walls create secondary stability. The rounded stern deck shape, taken from the Mamba design, sheds water easily, making it forgiving in moving water. The Katana also offers a more spacious cockpit than traditional whitewater designs for a less confining feeling.

Versatile cross-over boat for whitewater or flat water
Outfitted with Zone knee/thigh pads and the new ConTour Ergo seat system
Rocker profile balanced for speed and stability
Plenty of storage area for expedition style trips
Spacious cockpit

Review: Great boat as I am starting to get into white water. Currently using it on the rivers in southern new jersey. In the estuaries of the bay areas, its pretty great to have a boat that can take rough water conditions. I am going to throw it in the ocean and play on the waves in the next few weeks, should be fun. With a high angle ww paddle, I am able to sustain 4 mph on flat water - pretty quick for a short boat. Tracking is pretty great with or without the skeg. I primarily use the skeg when I am being lazy - you do go faster with it up. My girlfriend just ordered one as she is outgrowing her rec boat skill wise and needs to get into something that can do it all. If you are in an area with everything like southern new jersey where you can literally be in the ocean, in an estuary and on a river in the same weekend its great to have one boat to do it all. Eventually I'll purchase a dedicated ww boat and a sea kayaking boat but I am very impressed with the Katana so far.

Review: I bought two of these boats, we took them on the Sacramento River, not exactly a rager but moving water, eddies, wave trains etc. It was the first time on the river for my wife, she was a little timid at first but after a half hour she was looking for the fast water and talking about hitting the American. The skeg works awesome. These boats are stable and fast, I was in a perception 13ft going as hard as I could, and my 11 year old son was matching me stroke for stroke and it looked like I was working harder. We were on the water six hours and nobody complained about being sore, outfitting is great with lots of storage. Great boats, can't wait to hit some whitewater.
