| Review: | I am purchasing my second Expedition Plus. I broke the first one trying to push myself over a gravel bar instead of just getting out and walking my canoe down. I was very pleased with how well it held up on the rocks. Just about everybody in our group that runs the lower canyons of the Rio Grande uses a plastic paddle because of the rocks and low water, but this paddle made 6 trips before I broke it. The rock gaurd extends 6 inches or so up the shaft so it doesn't come off. I ruined my first bending branches paddle a sun shadow by pulling off the rock gaurd after 3 years, about 240 miles. If you want a wooden paddle and you're in rocky low water situations then this is the correct paddle to buy. Just don't put all your weight on the shaft and expect it not to crack a little. I still managed to use the paddle for two more days after it started cracking due to the fiberglass overlay. I'm very happy with the paddle and would recommend it to anyone that wants something to use hard and then still be able to hang it on the living room wall. | ||||

| Review: | The Bending Branches Expedition Plus Canoe paddle performed excellently under moderately difficult expedition conditions. I paddled with it for about a month and a half in Southeast Alaska on ocean canoe expeditions and I am pleased with how well it stood up against all the rocks and barnacles of the coastal environment here. It moves a fair amount of water and is still easy on the shoulders. A bit tiresome after many miles on the ocean, particularly through waves. Overall a nice paddle. Worth the expense. | ||||
