Great little cup holder. It keeps my water bottle right in front of me in my Wilderness Tsunami. That's important here in the Florida heat. For smaller diameter bottles you need to use a coozy with it. Don't expect it to hold open bottles or soda cans without spilling. You must have a lid.

The can-panion has a few major weaknesses that make it a no-go for me. The first it that is of too large a diameter. Even a 1lt bottle of water flops around in it. Second, the curled clip does not fit the coming of my kayak (Necky Looksha) snugly. The result is that the holder hangs at an angle, which is then exaggerated when you add your water bottle. High lean angle and a bump of the knee leaves your bottle on the floor of the boat. Finally the size makes it awkward to avoid when getting in/out of the boat. It is a good idea but needs improvement. Given the price, there is little ground for complaint, but my can-panion is on a garage shelf.

the cup holder was supposed to hold the drink bottle upright, but it did not. i ended up modifying it to attach to the front of my seat between by legs. it works ok. the one thing i do like about it is that it is tall enough to hold a tall water bottle upright. most are too short to do so.
