Love it. Needed something to help me load my fishing kayak. I had rotator cuff surgery a few months ago and am still recovering. Showboat 66 works great. I have used it several times and loading and unloading is easy. I am so glad I bought it.

I think the Showboat would have been a great way to load my kayak. Unfortunately, despite what Yakima says, it does NOT work on my 2011 Honda Element w/factory crossbars. The distance from the last crossbar to the end of my Element is 43", 46" including the 3" spoiler. This is almost double the maximum distance Yakima says you should have when extending the Showboat for loading. Took me 2 calls to Yakima (they never did give me a correct answer), and a trip to a fellow that installs Yakima racks for another outdoor sporting goods store to finally get an answer to this problem. The bright spot in this frustrating problem was ACK. I feel like I am becoming Daniel's new best friend, having talked to him by phone so much lately. He and other customer service reps at ACK bent over backwards to help me with the problem and having to return the Showboat. Thanks, ACK! I wish you guys would open a store in Phoenix, AZ. Conclusion: I think the Showboat would probably work great. Just make sure the distance between you last crossbar and the end of your car is 24" or less. I only gave a 2-star rating due to Yakima's inability to correctly evaluate the problem and saying the Showboat would fit my Honda Element.

The Showboat has provided ease in loading my kayak. Thanks to KJC, I made sure that the cross bar size was appropriate with my vehicle. Despite taking time sliding cross bars to set good alignment during assembly - sliding the unit back and forth for loading is still a little tight.

Q: Do you have a crossbar that will fit Thule’s 450 Crossroad Railing Foot that will hold more than 165 lbs? I would like a crossbar that can hold 180 lbs. Or, do you have a crossbar and railing foot for a 2012 Nissan Murano that would hold 180 lbs and would be compatible with the Thule Hull-A-Port 850 PRO and Thule Hullavator PRO 898? I currently have a Thule 450 Crossroad Railing Foot with locks, Thule 58” square crossbars and two Hull-A-Port 850 PROs installed on our 2012 Nissan Murano. I carry two kayaks weighing 53 lbs and 73 lbs. According to Thule, their square crossbar will only hold 165 lbs. I have not installed the Thule Hullavator PRO 898 yet because the added 33 lbs (43 lbs less the 10 lbs of the PRO 850 when I take it off) will give me a total weight on the crossbars of 179 lbs. According to Nissan, if I replace my black roof racks with their metal silver one, they can hold 220 lbs. So the crossbar becomes my limiting factor. A potential solution is to buy the Yakima ShowBoat 66. If I did this: Do I need the SweetRoll with the ShowBoat 66 or can I use the PRO 835? Other Yakima products? Will 2 kayaks fit on top of the car in the SweetRoll? The kayaks are Wilderness Tsunami 140, 14’, 24” wide, 53 lbs and the tandem Pamlico 145T 14’ 6”, 31” wide, 73 lbs.. Is 24” maximum roller extension enough with a 80 lb kayak? Thank you. Best regards, Ed
A: What you would need for your Nissan Murano is Thule AeroBlade ARB53, Thule Rapid Crossroad Foot Pack 450R.
