The Eureka Taron 3 is a 3-person, 3-season backpacking tent designed for performance. The Taron features higher waterproof coatings for weather protection, nylon floors and reinforced sewing techniques to increase its performance for the backcountry. This two-pole aluminum dome tent with fly pole is available in a 2-and 3-person format and features front (and rear in the 3 person model) vestibules for stashing gear out of the way, interior wall and side pockets and a gear loft. Each tent features a vertical strut vestibule pole that creates extra volume for protected storage and increased ventilation. Its vectored fly-to-tent pullouts increase tent volume, enhance ventilation and aid stability.

I bought this tent primarily for kayak camping from my fishing SOT kayak. It has done very well. I will first say that the only reason for 4 stars is that is a little bit bulky and heavy-there are other tents out there that are more light weight and smaller packing. So, backpackers be aware of this. But- it is a 3-person tent. I am betting that if one hiker carried the fly and the other carried the tent, it wouldn't be an issue at all. That being said, it's very good out of a kayak. The very first time we set it up for a weekend camping trip, the waterproofing got put to the test. It rained for the 3 days and 2 nights we were out there and not drop came inside. I always use a ground tarp to protect the floor and when we packed the tent up, we discovered some water pooled between the floor and tarp- and still no wetness got in. The fly with the weird pole in it takes a little getting used to with setting up, but it does give you some additional space in the vestibule. We slept two adults in this tent with great comfort. Both the vestibules have ample space for storage. The venting system did very well and we have yet to get any condensation inside. Plenty of tie down points on the fly for securing during high winds. has a very nice storage loft too. I would and have recommended this tent to friends.
