In each newsletter we will review a different product starting with the Hobie Kona. Why the Kona? Well, it is our most versatile kayak when it comes to wanting a tandem, but also desiring the ability to paddle alone (no, not alone in that your significant other is sitting in the kayak looking pretty while you paddle away). So many customers want a Kayak that meets the Single/Tandem need and the Kona delivers.
What makes the Kona unique from most other brands is that it is 11' 6" long. This makes it not only easy to move around and load but also makes paddling as a solo enjoyable. Other tandems are 13' and 14' making solo paddling less than optimal. The second most important aspect is the design itself. The Kona is filled with innovation and conveniences. From the two 8" storage hatches, the two built in convenience pockets and three bottle/cup holders, nothing is forgotten.
