Canoesport's Grand Re-Opening Celebration and SAVINGS!

You may have heard our recent exciting announcement!  We have purchased Canoesport in Houston, Texas.  This acquisition gives us the opportunity to work with a name brand in Houston, while providing the outstanding customer service, selection, and expertise that ACK customers have grown to know and expect.

For over 25 years Canoesport has provided Houston and the Gulf Coast region with the best in kayaks, canoes, fishing and outdoor equipment.  ACK purchased Canoesport on October 13th. Since then Peter, Steve and Chris have spent a great deal of time remodeling the store. 

We will be celebrating our grand re-opening Nov. 8th-16th.  Come see all the changes we've made to make the store even more customer friendly.

The holiday season is finally upon us.  For those of us who love to eat, it does not get any better than Thanksgiving!  This is the time of the year when we get together with family and friends, eat as much turkey and stuffing as possible, watch some afternoon football, and then quietly fall into a long winter's nap, courtesy of tryptophan.

This year instead of slipping into a couch coma, head out to your favorite paddling spot and work off some of those extra Thanksgiving calories.  Happy Thanksgiving and happy kayaking!

ACK Fishing Challenge - A Big Hit
Mike Bayer wins 1st Fishing Challenge 

The temperature was hot and the wind was blowing hard, but that did not stop anglers from all around Texas from getting in their kayaks and having a great time at Decker Lake. 

"ACK put on a great event", said Tanner Shepard of Austin.  "I'm going to tell all my fishing buddies about it!"

In the Competitive Division Mike Bayer took 1st place, Trey Webb came in 2nd place and Steve Garcia came in 3rd Place.  Steve Garcia also won the Big Bass Prize for the tournament's biggest fish.  The participants in the other three divisions had a great time as well spending the day kayaking and fishing.

The afternoon was topped off with a delicious BBQ dinner, and every participant walked away with a fabulous door prize.  Nobody went home empty handed!

A Great Sit Inside Kayak

Pilot KnifeNRS Pilot Knife
The NRS Pilot Knife is one piece of gear that I never leave home without.  The blade offers a variety of options.  One side is smooth for cutting, the other is serrated and has a rope cutting hook.  The knife comes with a sheath that locks the blade into place.  An additional safety feature is the blunt tip, which protects against punctures.  The rubberized grip also gives you complete control over the knife.
