Sunday October 14th ACK's Chris, and his wife Kara, took part in the Livestrong Challenge, which for him consisted of a 40 mile bicycle ride and her as a nurse at the rest stations. Chris is an avid cyclist and was very happy to be able to raise money for such a good cause as well as honor the memories of friends and family missed over the years.
You can support the Livestrong Foundation at our stores if you have Yakima roof rack by purchasing Livestrong Endcaps for your roof rack. All proceeds go directly to Livestrong, helping people live with, through, and beyond cancer. It's like a little yellow bracelet for your car.

This takes us to 12 brands of boats. We will continue to add models from each brand as we find good products that meet the needs of our customers.
Kayaker of the Month ACK is always looking to add new features to the newsletter and Kayaker of the Month seems like the way to go. Since none of our valued readers knew about the KOM, I have nominated and seconded the first KOM who is a great friend to the kayak community.
Chris G. from Cibilo, TX is a regular at the San Marcos shop, he fishes frequently with his family from his Hobie Kona and his Hobie Mirage Outback mostly at Bourne and Lady Bird Lake in the Texas Hill Country. He really likes fishing these areas because of the lack of motorboats and the easy access afforded by using his kayaks.
His fishing has really taken off since getting the outback this August which allows him to offer bass of all sizes a fantastic trolling presentation with crankbaits and spinners. Chris also recommends using a watermelon Red/Black flake Senko with a 4/0 worm hook Texas rigged.
