For those of us tuned into what's going on in the paddling industry, August was greeted with much anticipation as manufacturers started rolling out their new kayak and canoe models. Industry professionals and consumers alike became giddy and almost child-like. August pretty much came and went and as always kayak and canoe manufacturers didn't fail to deliver. One of the perks of working at ACK is being eligible to participate in our “Go Play for the Day” program which allows employees to go out in the field to test drive products or experience a day paddling, hiking, camping or whatever else they wish to do out in the great outdoors. Taking advantage of this privilege, I decided to take my new Ocean Kayak Trident Ultra 4.7, Werner Cyprus bent shaft paddle, Seattle Sports Catch Cooler and my trusty Wildcat Lighting System to one of my favorite Texas coastal fishing spots in pursuit of Redfish. Once again, our 6th annual 2011 Fall Demo Days are in order and just a few weeks away. If you live near Austin, San Marcos or Houston, it's time to mark your calendars if you haven't already. For those that live too far to enjoy this always imitated but never duplicated event, book your airline tickets -- you can't miss it! This Fall, we'll be featuring a variety of new boats such as the Wilderness Ride 135 and 115, Hobie Revolution and Quest 11, the new Tetra series and much more and of course, all at great savings!
