Greetings!

Hopefully your summer is going well. We are only a couple of weeks into it but it seems like it has been here for months. With the summer time it is important to remember to KAYAK. Your kayak requires water to remain hydrated, leaving it in the garage, or even worse, outside, will make it become very parched. Keeping it in the water will make for one happy kayak.

Speaking of a happy Kayak. All of us at Austin Canoe & Kayak continue to listen to our customers. Since the last news letter, we have added over 40 products to our site and in our stores. We want to be your repair product source and will continue to add repair products as we get them. We strive to have that repair part you need to make your kayak complete and like new. If you see something we are missing, let us know - we will not only get it for you, but also add it to our everyday inventory.

Online Product Reviews - Help needed
We need your help! Our customers rely on the thoughts and the opinions of others. With that said, we have collected over 150 product reviews but that is still not enough. We are seeking help from our customers to review their favorite and least favorite products. To do so, just browse our site to your favorite product and click "Reviews".

Product Review - Dagger Approach
Is it a white water kayak or a traditional sit-inside kayak? Can it run a river or tackle a lake? Is that flat spot up front for a rod holder? The answer to all these is YES. Rarely does a manufacturer try to make a kayak that satisfies everyone and even rarer is it when they succeed - this one is it. The Approach is brand new for 2006. It is a semi-flat bottom kayak that features the new Dagger Drop Skeg. Unlike past skegs, this one extends from the bottom of the boat approximately 1 foot down. The added drop skeg turns this river boat into a great tracking kayak. The shape of the hull and the added thigh braces make it possible to roll this kayak and use in class 2+ rapids. The full-size rear hatch provides room to store your day-tripping gear - with a bulkhead to help keep your gear dry. Additional features are the adjustable foot braces, a built in security bar and two carrying toggle handles. This kayak is a sure bet for the river runner that hits the lakes on occasion.

Paddle Trips

We have had a great time on our recent trips and have enjoyed all the people we have met. If you have not been on a trip with us, look at our available trips and sign up, we love to paddle and it is even more fun when we get to meet new people. The trips are so fun that we have had some of our customers do the same trip more than once. Look for more trips in the month of July and August.
