A month has passed and we are happy to announce that we have confirmed that Jack is, in fact, the son of Peter and Molly. Many didn't believe that such a sweet little boy could belong to Peter but DNA testing have proved the naysayers wrong. ACK insiders have heard rumors that Molly is taking full credit.
In addition to Jack, we thought it would be a great idea to introduce the ACK family. This month we wanted to highlight some of the San Marcos ACK family.
Pictured below is Kevin, Glen, Tony and the infamous Kona of the San Marcos store.
Look for the rest of the ACK clan in the coming months.
Lessons & Trips Report
The first 1/2 day paddle and whitewater lessons went off without a hitch! A record number of new paddlers enjoyed the San Marcos river with our lead guide Tony at the helm. Tony is a Wildlife Biology major at Texas State and provides us with extensive knowledge of the local rivers and wildlife native to Texas. Tony will be guiding all of our trips and bat paddles.
Our instructors, Jason and Rick, put on an extensive 3 day clinic for some newcomers to whitewater kayaking this past weekend. Roy from Georgetown stopped by after the class to talk about purchasing a kayak and informed us "it was the most fun I have had in years".
Don't miss out! Check out our Web Site and sign up for a 1/2 Day or Full Day San Marcos Paddles, Town Lake Bat Paddle, and/or one of our lessons. Space is limited on all lessons and trips.
ACK Forum Picture Contest!
The Home Page on the ACK website now features rotating pictures of our kayaks in use. There are currently 3 different photos of some
folks you might recognize! Post your pictures in our photo contest thread on the ACK Forum and we
will have a vote for the best picture. The winning picture will be added to the
rotation. We can make you famous!
Product Review Inflatable Kayaks
How many times have you encountered a beautiful lake or river
far from your home base and wished you had your kayak with you? Remember
those beautiful vacations you have taken that would have been enhanced by
traveling to some remote waterfalls or peaceful wade pools that can't be
reached by land? My guess is too many! You don't have to be without your Yak any longer.
Advanced Elements provides several sturdy inflatable kayaks
for all types of water use. There are
many reasons for getting an inflatable kayak. The main reason is limited storage space. Those that live in apartments or cruise the highways in RV's and campers know the difficulty of transporting a hard shell kayak. All of the Advanced Element kayaks fold down
into a bag the size of a medium suitcase.Perfect for storing in a closet, car trunk or even transporting on a plane, bus
The minimal size and weight is another good feature of the
inflatable for people that have difficulty loading hard shell kayaks onto roof
top carriers.Low weight also means that you can mail your kayak to your next destination instead of checking it
as luggage at the airport.
Many folks are concerned that an inflatable will not perform
as well as a hard shell or be as durable. While this can be true in some cases the Advanced Elements kayaks are
high quality with excellent hull designs and a rigid structure. They paddle exceptionally well in most
conditions.The actual construction of
the kayak is an industry best. Three layers
of protection would have to be compromised to deflate the main chamber. In addition the hull is reinforced at the bow and stern
ends for maximum protection.
