It has been another great year at ACK, and we would like to thank you for helping make it such a success.  This year we expanded our kayak selection and we're offering more accessories than ever.  With the purchase of Canoesport in Houston, we are now offering the ACK service and expertise to the Gulf Coast region, and our new, larger, distribution center is allowing us to keep more inventory on hand, which in turns gets  products in your hands faster.

We look to 2009 to continue expanding our product selection and for more ways to better serve you, our customers!  We couldn't do all this without you and your dedication to paddling and expanding the community.  Promoting a sport that is environmentally friendly and good for you is a great thing.

I know it has been said before this past year, but once again we have another addition to the ACK family.  We would like to welcome Andrew Moczygemba, the new manager of ACK Canoesport in Houston.

Andrew was born and raised in the Houston area, and has fished the Texas Gulf Coast his whole life.  For the past six years he has worked in Outdoor Lifestyle retail at both Bass Pro Shop and Gander Mountain.

Andrew is very excited about representing ACK Canoesport and working with all of our great customers.  Welcome aboard Andrew!

It's Boat Show Time Again

San Antonio Boat Show Jan. 29-Feb. 1

Boat show season is here again, and we are pleased to be a part of all of the shows.  This will be our third year at the Austin show and our second time in San Antonio and our inaugural year at the Houston event.

These shows are a great time, and we love having the opportunity to introduce so many new people to kayaking.  As always we will be offering awesome show specials on kayaks and accessories and our very knowledgeable staff will be on hand to answer all your paddling questions.

Also, we will be raffling off a kayak at each show.  Be sure to stop by and say hello, and bring your friends.  We look forward to seeing you there.

The Necky Manitou 13 and 14
High Performance Sit Inside Kayaks
If your looking for performance and  comfort out of your next kayak then look no further then the Necky Manitou.  The Manitou 13 and Manitou 14 is a lightweight kayak that can get lighter if you're interested in the composite versions.

The Manitou 13 gives the feel and the glide of a touring kayak with the stability and comfort of a recreational kayak.  As a bigger guy I have always had trouble getting in and out of sit inside kayaks, but with a cockpit size of 34.5"x 16.25", I found it very easy to get in and out quickly.  It weighs in at just 45 pounds, which makes it very easy to carry as well as load on the top of your car.

Additional features include the very comfortable Extrasport XtraComfort seat and the Comfort Fit adjustable thigh braces which make me really feel like a part of this kayak.  I'm pretty sure with a good skirt and some practice I will be able to roll it this spring. 

The Manitou 14 comes in at just over 14 feet, and weighs in at 49 pounds.  The thing that impressed me about this boat was the comfort and stability.  The Manitou 14 comes with a retractable skeg which gives it excellent tracking, and has a large cockpit for an easy in and out.

The Necky Manitou is a sit inside kayak that is at the head of its class.  Comfort, versatility and design make this an excellent choice for any paddler.
New Products From ACK
sea lightScotty 828 Folding Sea Light with Flag
For anyone that kayaks at night the Scotty 828 Folding Sea Light is for you.  The Sea Light is powered by two alkaline batteries, has a burn time of up to 8 hours, and is visable up to 2 miles.  It is 42 inches in height and the mounting base has a push button release.  It comes with an attached orange reflective flag and is Coast Guard approved.
