This isn't a cushy office job, you don't get a pretty desk, this is hands on working with the staff to manage the team, drive process efficiencies and make working in a warehouse FUN. This job is intense and intensely fun. You will be in the middle of the fire through the busy season - the VP of Operations wants to hand you all of his responsibilities and focus on other things. Overall responsibility
The role of the Warehouse Manager is to oversee all of ACK's warehousing, this includes two separate warehouses located in Austin. You will be responsible for all inbound and outbound movement of inventory to both our physical stores (Distribution) and to our Internet Customers. Managing includes not only managing the warehouse staff but also building and executing the processes to make the most efficient and practical processes in the warehouse. You will be supporting the VP of Internet & Store Operations to make us best in class in everything we do in the warehouse.

Key areas of responsibility
Key areas of responsibility are to ensure that ALL inventory is received, put away, and pushed back out through properly planned and executed processes while analyzing activities for the most effective means to achieve success.

- Oversees all processes within warehouse operations scope
- Partners with customer service and purchasing to facilitate internet order fulfillment
- Accountable for inventory management, inbound product receipt, brick and mortar inventory allocations
- Effectively communicates with managers, peers and senior leaders on deliverables, timelines and support needed
- Plans, organizes, monitors and controls projects using appropriate tools and techniques to ensure efficient and effective project completion
- Strong leadership skills including the ability to hire, train and coach frontline associates
- Reports to the VP of Internet & Store Operations

Qualifications
- Effective written, oral and listening communications, including adapting communications based on audiences
- Strong leadership qualities

- Experience with managing project plans and schedule, including milestones and on-time delivery
- Proficient with Microsoft Office applications
- Strong organizational skills
- Supervisory experience in a warehouse environment
- College degree preferred
- Process improvement background preferred
- Personal interest and experience in outdoor sports a plus

You will own the team, you will own the processes, your decisions will be what decides to happen and not happen, you need to be a leader and in control but also still a coder, we are a small and nimble company, everyone does everything and we don't have lots of meetings to pontificate on the next best thing.

You will help maintain, build, architect, rebuild, implement a world-class mobile ecommerce site for a fast-growing, leading Outdoor Retailer as well as build mobile apps for our warehouse management/optimization system. This isn't for the faint of heart, you must love cutting edge technology, be able to adapt fast and geek out on the latest blogs and newest tricks for the mobile space and the web. You will be actively participating in project planning and mentoring our Web Developers. You'll be expected to manage the team of three to write clean, readable, well-organized code that meets the provided requirements and rapidly solve problems.

Projects will include website development, ERP implementation using REST-API, Warehouse Management software and many others, all custom in-house grown and supported so you get to build and not just implement someone else's code.
