Cold weather and/or cold water apparel needs for paddlers are much different than other times of the year, especially when there is a chance for immersion. Layering is the most important thing to remember when dressing for this type of paddling.
Insulating Layers: Keeping warm starts with a good baselayer and there are plenty of different options to choose from. Wetsuits, base layers, rash gaurds, fleece liners and more can help keep you warm under your outerwear.
Outerwear: To go paddling in the cold, it's essential to stay dry, and that's where the outerwear comes in. Dry or splash wear with some type of waterproof coating specifically made for paddlers is the best option when it comes to outerwear.
