Summer marks a time when your water bottle never seems to be quite as full as you’d like and you start to notice that every time you go out to paddle or camp you end up swimming or (gasp) not doing anything at all. While this summer in particular has already brought record breaking temperatures throughout many parts of the nation there is hope for those that want to continue playing outdoors.

Those are just a few of the words that would describe my weekend camping in Garner State Park back in the fall of 2011. With good friends, gear, and kayaks in tow, we set off for the Hill Country for a gorgeous autumn weekend of camping, paddling and hiking.
Ya know, it’s never been easy for me to get into the holiday shopping spirit. In fact, for at least the last 20 years, I’ve always waited until the weekend before Christmas to do all my shopping.
Lately I’ve been on a binge of purchasing products THAT ACTUALLY WORK! For years, especially in this economy, I spent my money on bargain products only to discover that these products either didn’t work well or simply didn’t last.
As you may have noticed, we like our Kelty products here at ACK and sleeping bags are no exception. Before we were set to experience the arrival of the first frost of winter in central Texas, my wife and I decided to get out of the house and into the woods for a one night camping trip.
