We’d like to take this opportunity to spread the word about the good work being done over at Heroes On The Water, a non-profit organization that works to provide therapeutic kayak fishing for military veterans, active-duty and their families.
Kayak Angler’s Tournament Series (KATS) donates funds raised by anglers to help support the Fort Hood, Texas chapter of Heroes on the Water and Explore Austin. Austin, Texas (March 21, 2016) – The Kayak Angler’s Tournament Series (KATS) organization is pleased to announce a donation total of $4,720, which was raised through charity raffle sales, to help support two Texas based non-profits, the Fort Hood Chapter of Heroes on the Water and Explore Austin.
Austin Canoe and Kayak (ACK) Donates $8,000 to San Antonio and Hill Country Heroes on the Water Chapters
Austin, Texas (December 16, 2014) – Outdoor retailer, Austin Canoe and Kayak (ACK), a division of MSP Holdings, LLC, today announced donations totaling $8,000 were made to the San Antonio and Hill Country chapters of Heroes on the Water using money raised by its Kayak Angler Tournament Series (KATS) in 2014. Heroes on the Water is a 501c3 organization that serves veterans from all branches of the United States military by providing healing and rehabilitating kayak fishing outings that are physically and mentally therapeutic.
I got the opportunity to fish the Casting for a Cause tournament for the second year in a row last week. The word tournament might be featured in the name but the event is far more than a tournament.
Living in Florida I’d heard nothing but good things about the Casting for a Cause tournament held annually in Port Aransas, so when I moved back to Texas I had to add this tournament to my schedule. This year’s beneficiaries for the tournament are The National MS society, Haven for Hope, Heroes on the Water, and over 20 other charitable organizations.
