We officially declare May 6, intentionally set in the spring season (feeling like summer in some states), as a day in the year where we urge everyone to get out and enjoy the Great Outdoors on the water, celebrating the hobby, sport, and lifestyle that is kayak fishing.
For those who don’t know, we offer four Go Play Days (paid workdays) a year for all employees to get outside and learn more about our products through personal experience. Of course, it doesn’t take much pushing to get ACK-ers outside. Here’s a blog by ACK San Marcos Store Associate Casey Billingsley documenting his experience kayak fishing on the Texas coast.
New month, new gear! Keeping up with our new tradition of a monthly product pick blog to help you keep up with our constantly updating inventory, we asked the ACK merchandising team for their input on what to spotlight for May.
Foot-powered kayaks, boats that are equipped with a pedal drive, are becoming more and more common as innovation in the kayak fishing world expands the realm of options. We thought a side-by-side comparison of popular pedal models would be helpful for those looking to make the investment.
Anticipation is high, but the wait for FeelFree’s Overdrive to be released is almost over. It’s coming out this summer and is designed to retrofit into the Lure 11.5 and 13.5. To quell your curiosity (or fuel it…), here’s some never-before-seen close-up photos of the drive.
In the name of transparency and pure curiosity, we’ve decided to start a monthly numbers series that focuses on a different category. At the end of each month, we’ll take a look at the quantity sold of a specific category (kayaks, SUPs, paddles, and fishing) and feature the top 5 products.
Your mother probably played a definitive role in exposing you to the outdoors you now know and love. Now’s your chance to give the gift of adventure back to her! From kayaks to wine glasses, we’ve put together the ultimate guide to help you find the perfect gift for her.
There’s a lot of accessories available for kayaking and kayak fishing, but you’ve got two essentials to get out on the water: A PFD and a paddle. Knowing this, we want to draw attention to a very handy section of our site: The Kayak Packages Page!
You’re getting a lot of information in a one stop shop at your fingertips, including access to current and all past issues of the Texas Parks & Wildlife magazine, as well as hunting and fishing guides.
