The truth is: A lot of us probably unknowingly partake in activities and have habits that are “environmentally friendly” or “green.” That matters, because personal impact adds up! But the truth also is: We could each stand to do more.
Austin, Texas (April 21, 2017) – Outdoor adventure and action gear specialty retailer, Summit Sports, announces the launch of “OWN IT”, an initiative to minimize landfill waste, protect natural resources and assist in wildlife conservation while inspiring others to do the same.
The plan was to put in around 10 am, paddle until we reached the island we’d camp on, spend the night, then pack up and paddle until we reached our take-out point under a bridge around mid-afternoon the next day, where Rising Phoenix would pick us up and take us back to Bastrop.
The experience was probably the best I’ve ever had camping anywhere, and it probably wouldn’t have worked out if I didn’t have help from work-the gear that ACK provided make the trip possible.
