Meet the Austin Team

Justin Fees, Austin Store Manager

Personal Interests:
I enjoy spending my free time out in the great outdoors duck hunting, fresh & saltwater fishing, kayaking and camping. During the football season, watching the Texas Longhorns consumes most of my Saturdays.

Top 3 Favorite Products:
Werner Kalliste Straight Shaft Paddle - I can cover a lot of water in my yak and I don't feel like I am having to put forth any effort to do so with this paddle. The foam core makes positioning my kayak with rod in hand so easy when the wind kicks up.

Wilderness Systems Commander 120 - The perch seat and pontoon style hull gives me the versatility to stand and sit comfortably while out on the water. I even turned mine into a layout boat for duck hunting.

Yeti Coolers - I use a 45 and 65 and have saved a ton of money on ice. My old cooler (a cheap brand) would use 10 bags of ice on a weeklong trip. My Yeti will use 2 and still have ice left over during that same amount of time.

Personal Interests:
In my spare time I enjoy everything that involves being active outdoors including kayaking, fishing, traveling, hiking, biking and just about anything else you can name. I also enjoy cooking, reading, and brewing homemade beer. I am always open to and searching for new hobbies to add to my long list of existing ones. A business major with an entrepreneurial spirit, I also enjoy working with and building small organizations like ACK. The team is great and I really enjoy working with the staff at ACK!

Top 3 Favorite Products:
Wilderness Systems Tarpon Series - As my go-to boat, the Tarpon series is versatile and has never let me down. A lot of engineering and user-friendly design has been incorporated into the boat. I have been able to cover many miles of water and find and catch many fish using my Tarpon 120.

NRS Durasoft Cooler - This little yellow cooler has been everywhere. It has traveled thousands of miles, covered countless nautical miles, crossed bone-dry deserts and seen many hotel room wet bars. It holds ice amazingly well, is tough and durable and holds just the right amount of beer!

Nylon Snap Hook by Scotty - This $1.25 part makes clipping gear on and off a breeze. I always carry a few extras for whatever predicament I may end up in. I use these for dry boxes, paddle leashes, nets, camping, hiking, etc. Inexpensive and very useful!

Austin Store News and Updates
6/23/2011 Do you ever wonder what it's like to use a high-end paddle or thinking about buying one but can't seem to take the next step? Rent one! All ACK stores now rent high-end paddles. It's a great way to get a feel for what it's like but be warned, you'll never want to go back to using your old paddle. Ask any ACK associate for details.
