You could technically bring a fishing rod and sit on your cooler on a standard SUP, so what makes the Kahuna a fishing SUP? As a response to growing interest in SUP fishing, manufacturers began offering paddle boards with built-in mounting options for fishing accessories, as well as shaping the actual board to be wider with a hull design crafted to allow for anglers to sneak up on fish (aka, less hull slap/noise).

Checking In With KATS

Spring has sprung, and our KATS season is moving along full steam! As of now, we only have one regular season event left to fish before the championship this fall. We will be out on Lake Travis in Austin, Texas on June 10th. The championship will include the top 25 anglers from the regular season and put them to the test over a two-day tournament.

Photo Blog: Kammok’s Travis Perkins Goes Inshore Kayak Fishing

It became very clear to me that, even as a competent paddler and casual angler, there was so much to learn about kayak angling.
Luckily for myself, I know the right people. Most recently, I went on a 24 hr salt water kayak fishing bender (so to speak) with Josh (Photographer Extraordinaire) and Carlos (Fleet Manager) of ACK in and around Port Aransas, Texas.
