We asked our Facebook fans, “What’s one piece of advice you’d give to a 1st time paddler?” Some of the responses were serious and some were just downright funny. Here’s 10 of our favorites:

    Ensure your paddle length matches your shoulder and kayak width to ensure you don’t scrap your paddle on your yak. Ranges are usually between 230-250.

    As previously stated; wear a PFD!

    Check the weather report so your not paddling during windy conditions or during an upcoming storm.

    You will get dehydrated, so bring and drink pleanty of water or Gatorade.
