A little over one year ago, the Lost Pines Forest and all of the Bastrop area suffered from a major wildfire, one they say was the most destructive in Texas history. To commemorate this day Arborday.org and state agencies launched a national campaign aimed to restore the pine trees lost to the fire. The effort aims to plant more than 4 million new loblolly trees on both public and private lands over the span of a five year period. We encourage all readers to visit Arborday’s Lost Pines Forest Recovery campaign page and show your support. – Joseph@ACK
