We are no strangers to drought here in Texas and certainly don’t wish it upon anyone or anywhere. However, periods of drought are a reality of life and it seems that a larger than average area of the U.S. is experiencing one this summer. No need to get into the negative consequences, we all know what they are — especially that of a loss of water in our reservoirs that we all depend on so much. But, when reality strikes, you try and make the best of it and for paddlers there is one positive that comes out of this, an entirely new landscape to explore.
